The path passes by Chhairo (2628m) and Marpha (2668m).
Marpha is wedge with the shelter of the wind, behind a peak. This Thakali village has a typical architecture of Thak Kola with its flat roofs and its lanes.
The merchants of Chaira, village Tibetan on other bank, often assoient themselves along the path to sell their goods. On the route, the landscape is composed of high covered with snow peaks, brown cliffs, irrigated fields and houses. After the picturesque village of Syang (2715m) Jomsom (2743m) appears. Sometimes after Jomsom, the path follows the valley to the top of the river, sometimes on the bank along vertical cliffs. The landscape is very arid. Eklai Bhatti is deserted. We continue until Kagbeni (2810m) of altitude, oasis to the confluence of Jhong Khola and Gandaki Kali. Kagbeni is of old aspect.
