
After the hard rise of the day before, here the long descent in Gandaki Kali, covered here by the tropical forest. One begins the day while going up at dawn on Poon Hill (3149m), splendid view-point on Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Hiunchuli and the Dome glacier. One crosses then the collar of Ghorepani.
On the path we meet a great family of monkeys (entelles commun runs). They are under religious protection. It y' has many rhododendrons of shrubby and arborescent forms. One goes down in a zone devastated by the great crumblings in direction from Chitre (2348m), Phalate (2286m) and Sikha (2012m). Many caravans driven by Tibetans who howl after their mules, constitute an attraction additional on this excursion. In Ghare (1786m), one crosses Ghar Khola on a wood bridge.
A metal bridge on Gandaki Kali leads to Tatopani (1189m). It is a village surrounded by thermal springs and dominated by the solid mass of Nilgiri.
