From Phuket, we took a boat to go on the island of Koh Phi Phi (2h of crossing). For information kôh, that wants to say 'island' in inhabitant of Thailand.
Located at sea Andaman, in front of Krabi, the islands Phi Phi are small wonders of nature. Covered with vegetation and bordered of white sand, these places are in the middle of a gigantic aquarium. Translucent water, multicoloured corals and fish are with the range of only one mask and tuba!
It is a very small island with several great beaches. A friend is gone back there in May 2005, therefore after the Tsunami of December 2004. The central part was devastated but all is in rebuilding. It would seem that the government inhabitant of Thailand would like to rebuild hotels of luxury rather than small cottages better adapted to backpackers… to confirm… On this island, there is a walk to make absolutely. It is the point of view (view not like everyone says over there) in the southern summit meeting of the island. And moreover, if one goes down again on other side, one arrives on a superb deserted beach. In way, it is possible, by far, to see monkeys!
Another activity impossible to circumvent of the place: the visit of Koh Phi Phi Lee, the island sister which is uninhabited and which is located at 45 mn of boat. For the small history, it is precisely on this island that was turned film 'the Beach' with Léonardo Di Caprio and Virginie Ledoyen. The inhabitants of Thailand organize stroll nautical one day for 10 euros (meal + hiring of mask, tuba and palms included) to visit Koh Phi Phi Lee, the surrounding islands and the full rotation of Koh Phi Phi Gift with several divings in apnea and of the stops on the most beautiful beaches!
The evening, on the inhabited island, much of environment in the principal street (it is very small in fact!) : bars, night club, restaurants and internet cafe with gogo but all is very concentrated!
