
Cuzco is the archaeological capital of South America. Located at 3326 m of altitude, it is to advise to pay great attention and to take time to acclimatize itself. Do not do too much effort the first days if you arrived by plane.

The name of the capital Inca, Ccoscco, hispanized later in the form of Cuzco, means in quechua the navel of the ground. Located in a high very fertile valley, the city enjoys, thanks to the proximity of the tropic, of a climate favorable to agriculture. Today classified as cultural inheritance of humanity for the richness of its monuments incas and colonial, it appears among the cities best preserved of old America.
