Vinales with more than 150 kilometers in the West of Havana is presented most splendid of the landscapes that Cuba can offer to its visitor. In the province of Pinar del Rio, one finds the 'mogotes', of enormous mountainous hillocks emerging from a red ground, equipped with a green and coloured vegetation which is detached on the horizon from a cloudy sky.
Good base to visit Pinar del Rio, Cayo Jutias, Cayo Levisa like all the surrounding countryside.
The village remains very country. It is possible to make horse in the countryside (to ask for with the owners rooms of hosts) and to buy cigars. It is in this area that the plantations of tobacco are cultivated.
Visit cave of Saint Thomas (8 $CUC/people, helmet and frontal included). It is very interesting and that changes electrified caves all.
Lodging: Nelson villa, camillo Cienfuegos n 4, telf: 9-3268) 15 $CUC the room for two. It is the best quality of our tour. The owners are extremely accessible.
If it is complete, there are 'casa particular' absolutely everywhere in Vinales (nearly 300…) : not panic !
