Vatnajökull, the glacier largest of Iceland, covers 8% of the surface of the country. It with the size of Corsica, it is larger than all the other joined together glaciers of Europe, but it has another characteristic: its Western part is located on volcanic cracks of the médio-Atlantic rift.
