PERU - PARACAS - SMALLS GALAPAGOS |

Not far from the port of Pisco, the peninsula of Paracas, classified today natural reserve, is one of the top-places of the history of old Peru, but also of the observation of the marine animal-life of the Pacific.
From the small seaside resort of Paracas, many small motorboats propose an excursion around Ballestas the islands to you, known as also islands of Chincha (2 to 3 hours) or smalls galapagos, populated seals, penguins, petrels, cormorants and other producing water birds of guano. On one of the islands, we see wharves which are used to embark this known of the incas and rediscovered natural manure in the middle of the 19th century. At that time, the layer of guano deposited on the rock faces could reach up to thirty meters thickness! Much rarer today, the collecting campaigns do not take place any more but all the five or seven years.
Another extremely interesting excursion is that of the tower of the peninsula, which will lead you in particular towards cliffs cut out to the surprising forms of the site of Catedral (with the visit of an extraordinary cave marinates) and to the Museum Julio C. Tello which contains collections of textiles and mummies found in the necropolis of Paracas.
