True city in the city, this field of 72 ha was regarded as the center of the Earth. As it was called 'Quoted Forbidden City', thus putting the imperial residence on the same foot as the center of the Universe.
The complex is installed in the middle of the Ming capital. Some 52 m broad ditches and a wall high crimson 10 m protect it. This enclosure, punctuated with each angle of powerful towers of guard, delimits a perimeter of 750 m Est in West on 960m north in the south. The buildings, generally of the timber structures resting on a base into hard, bear names of good forecasts, such: 'harmony', 'peace', 'purity' and 'longevity'.
The columns and the walls are red, color of happiness, and with the glazed tiles yellow imperial cover their roofs curved in wings of making. Formerly, no building of the capital was not to equalize the height of it nor splendour.
