The Greek territory presents, in a condensed form, the features characteristic of the Mediterranean medium: strong interpenetration of the sea and the ground, hot and dry climate, parcelling out in small natural areas.
The littoral, which extends on 15.000 km, shelters innumerable islands - 20% of total surface - and natural ports favorable to navigation, as in Cyclades.
Encircled by the seas égée, Ionian and the Mediterranean, the country is frontier of Turkey in the east, it opens on Albania in the North-West, Bulgaria and Macedonia limits it to north.
